Kimberly DellaTorre - - Loudoun County, Virginia
Kimberly DellaTorre has a head for business with a heart for people, and she relies on those strengths to create successful sales. Kimberly’s been running the Kid’s Closet Connection Loudoun County sale since Fall 2023, but she’s had nearly a decade’s worth of experience coordinating other consignment sales in the area.
“My husband, Joe, and I have three school-aged children, two of which are twins,” she said. “That’s how I originally got involved with the Parents of Multiples sales in the area, and learned what it takes to run organized children’s consignment sales.”
Kimberly volunteered at the Kid’s Closet Connection Loudoun County sale in spring 2023, and used her sale know-how to create a positive experience for shoppers, sellers and volunteers, alike.
“I know what it takes to move people through the check-out line efficiently, all while keeping the energy positive,” she said. “As fate would have it, I bought more than just items for my children at the sale, I also bought the KCC-franchised Loudoun County sale itself, and am so excited to own this business in our community.”
Capitalizing on its strong reputation, Kimberly wants to continue to build even better and stronger Kid’s Closet Connection sales. “I love this sale because it truly benefits families in the community in a very real way,” she said. “Money goes directly to families selling their items, parents get to buy great items in one place at a fraction of the cost, and the community-at-large benefits from donations of unsold items, all while keeping things out of the landfill. That’s a win, win, win strategy for a successful sale.”
